J. Bridger Cox, M.D., joined Neuroscience Specialists in 2014. Dr. Cox specializes in complex spinal surgery and minimally invasive treatments. He, along with his partners, work to provide exceptional Neurological care at the largest and most established neurosurgical practice in Oklahoma. Neuroscience Specialists has served the community for seven decades, and our physicians are fully equipped with the training and abilities to provide you with the best care. Dr. Cox is a board-certified, experienced, and fellowship-trained doctor that is eager to help any patient.

Dr. Cox was recognized as a National Merit Scholar and attended the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science in 2003. Along with studying at the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Cox spent time abroad in the United Kingdom studying at the University of Oxford. After being a member of the University of Oklahoma men’s varsity golf team and obtaining his undergraduate degree, Dr. Cox transitioned into medical school. He completed medical school at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City in the first quartile of his graduating class. Dr. Cox left Oklahoma to complete his residency training in neurological surgery at the University of Florida.  He later went on to complete a fellowship in complex spinal surgery with Dr. Patrick Jacob and Dr. Daniel Hoh. Dr. Cox was pleased to receive the 2012 Mayfield Clinical Science award by the AANS/CNS Joint Section on Spine for his research. Dr. Cox is a member of AOSpine, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the North American Spine Society. Dr. Cox has other passions other than neurosurgery. In his free time, he is most likely playing golf, hunting, fishing, or traveling. Along with leading an active lifestyle, he is passionate about socioeconomic and quality issues within neurosurgery.
